ELEGY 3: YOU XIN

You Xin (YOU HAVE A HEART) brings into focus the tactile and spatial experience of the paper and cloth proofs of condolence in a traditional Chinese Funeral: tien-gi (abuloy) and ti-ak (banners, family and a life). The performance is paced within four hours and the installation is measured in space to contain elements of four (si’ meaning death).

The repeating Infinite Ges- tures performed and entwined in time and space are Infinite Fires, Infinite Kanjin, Infinite One Wail.
